Do I Have To Get Naked?
This book is a poetic journey of love, relationships and life lessons. Tonia G. Brown wrote these poems as an exercise in healing. She expressed her inner thoughts and experiences; without being held captive by the fear of judgment or criticism. She had the freedom to be transparent. It is in her transparency that she was able to help others. Come along on this journey of pain, healing, redemption and love.

I'd Rather
I’d rather be alone than
be undervalued,
valued under,
what I am worth.
Redefined, yet never found.
If you are not capable of understanding who or what I am,
this does not ERASE me.
I may not be for you
but I continue to be.
The One who created me
rejoices and joys in me.
Understands
and takes pleasure
in my faith to continue,
even when
you
the one I value
fail to see my worth.

Do I Have To Get Naked?
Do I have to get naked?
For you, for I, for me, for we, to see how we feel for real?
Do I have to get naked?
Is naked the only way to reveal the truth everyone wants to conceal, the truth that’s so necessary to heal? Okay, then I’ll get naked—
transparent if you will.
Listen as I speak
words that reveal
words that disrobe
unveil my pain, your pain, our pain unclog the drain,
expose the slain,
reveal the gain,
release the peace,
that waits to cover,
that quietly waits,
for us to discover.
Yes, I, you, me, we
need to get naked.
